Next month, our CEO Niall Burns will once again attend the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) Annual Conference in Anaheim, Los Angeles. A personal tradition he’s upheld for over 20 years. For Niall, this gathering is more than a professional commitment; it’s where he first witnessed the transformative power of multi-disciplinary collaboration in threat assessment and protective services.

At his first ATAP conference two decades ago, Niall experienced how public and private sector teams worked together seamlessly:
- Psychologists conducting subject profiling
- Investigators building behavioural and evidential pictures
- Security professionals protecting individuals at risk
- Legal teams preparing criminal or civil proceedings
These efforts safeguarded celebrities, high-net-worth individuals, co-workers, and former partners from stalking, harassment, and workplace violence — blending specialist expertise for holistic, proactive protection.
Motivated by what he saw, Niall brought this model of collaboration back to the UK and Europe. Today, Subrosa Group is a recognised leader in private security and risk management throughout the region. Its in-house specialists reflect those same core disciplines, working in sync to manage threats and support clients effectively.
To advance this mission further, Niall and the team developed the PRISM programme (Programme for Risk, Integrity, Safety & Management). This comprehensive threat management framework incorporates an innovative app designed to support both individuals and organisations in real time.
ATAP 2025 presents another opportunity for Niall to reconnect with long-standing colleagues, meet new associates, and continue exchanging insights with the professionals who helped shape his journey, from his earliest attendance to today.
