Tony Crampton

Tony served in the military prior to 30 years Police service in London – Metropolitan Police and City of London Police. He was a career Detective who spent the majority of his service focusing on Serious and Organised Crime Groups, working within specialised teams operating from New Scotland Yard and City of London Police HQ.

Tony has been the Senior Investigation Officer on many high-profile inquiries within the UK and internationally. He has developed a comprehensive background of experience and expertise in both the strategic management and tactical delivery of investigations concerning serious organised criminals, their crimes, and networks. He has extensive experience of undertaking sensitive covert operations, anti-corruption investigations. and overseas investigations, having had responsibility for developing and implementing effective oversight and supervisory processes of team members, whether working in UK, or deployed overseas.

As Director of Intelligence – City of London Police for 5 years, Tony was accountable for the risk management of operational decisions and consequential actions, undertaken by Investigating Units and individuals concerning open / sensitive source-led intelligence and proactive investigation. He has direct experience in all aspects of managing human intelligence sources, including those based overseas, and has personally operated in-country where appropriate.
